Passengers should arrive at Inkster Junction Station 30 minutes prior to departure time.

Sunday July 2nd – It’s a Hog Heist!

Steam Locomotive

We are heading up the track this evening in the hope that we can avoid those irritating train robbers. We’re hoping that the cowboys and gals will have been thrown off the scent by our evening departure. Keep your eyes peeled for any unusual activity as you tap your toes as the Audayo Brothers entertain during the train ride. There is a delicious supper awaiting our arrival including Pork in a Bun and Salad.  Take a stroll through the Heritage Village and more live music will wrap up this fun filled and fully interactive trip.

NB – Each passenger will receive 1 plate including 1 Pork in a Bun and 2 varieties of salad.
All donations collected will go to Helping Hands for Manitobans with Breast Cancer.

Thursday July 6th – Heritage Village Picnic

Today we make our way up the line from Inkster Junction Station to the Grosse Isle Heritage Village. Visit with friends as you take a leisurely ride aboard the 1900 era beautifully restored coaches. Awaiting our arrival will be freshly prepared sandwiches, creamy Caesar salad, chips and dip plus a warm or cold drink. Take time to visit the beautifully restored Heritage House, East Rosser School and take a moment in the Church during the stopover. This weekday picnic is ideal for larger groups and family gatherings.

Saturday July 8th – Take a Train Trip Back in Time

Join us onboard and experience Canadian railroading as it was over 100 years ago. Marvel at the beauty of the open prairie landscapes while the Prairie Dog Central's onboard volunteer shares stories of how steam locomotive No. 3 and our vintage passenger coaches played a fundamental role in the development of Western Canada. Indulge in the delicious made-from-scratch home baked pies offered by the vendors or bring along your own home prepared lunch. Walk through the cab of No. 3 or take part in the historical presentation centered around our five 1900 era coaches.  This Event is a firm family favourite because it’s slow paced, fun and is an informative way to share your day with family and friends.

Sunday July 9th – Great Train Robbery (Cowboys and Gals)

Rumour in the world of railroading is that those pesky horseback robbers are on the rampage and looking for their next haul. We ask that you remain vigilant as we attempt to dodge this gang of thieves. We’re hopeful that our ride to Grosse Isle will be uneventful but who knows what we may encounter during this hilarious, entertaining and interactive trip. On arrival enjoy your home prepared lunch or pick up a freshly cooked hotdog or smokie and be sure to stop by for some delicious home baked goodies. Meander around the beautifully restored Heritage House, East Rosser School and take a moment in the Church. Find your seat and get ready to enjoy some live music performed by Fire and Ice.

Saturday July 15th – Family Fun Day

Hop onboard for a day that is going to be a complete sensory overload, there's something for everyone on the PDCR today! Tap your toes as the Audayo Brothers entertain with live music as we make our way to Grosse Isle. There are balloon animals for the kids, as well stop by the caboose for a tattoo. Visit the enthusiastic volunteers in the Heritage House, East Rosser School and take a moment in the Church. A magic show will wrap up this fun filled day before we head back to the city. Bring along your own home packed basket or delight in the home baked pies, pastries, hot dogs and smokies freshly prepared by the locals. Book early so you don’t miss this entertaining fun packed day.

Sunday July 16th –Clowning Around Onboard the Prairie Dog Central

Hop onboard for a leisurely ride to the rural community of Grosse Isle. Waiting to greet us is Winnipeg's favourite Sleepy the Clown, so find yourself a seat and get ready to enjoy his show which includes juggling, magic and hilarious clown comedy. New to the PDCR family, we are extremely excited to welcome Sleepy the Clown this season. Take time to visit the local vendors selling their crafts and walk through the beautifully restored Heritage Village. Bring along your own packed lunch or indulge in a freshly prepared hotdog or smokie leaving space for an ice cream or one of the sweet treats on offer.

Join us onboard for a trip hosted by Manitoba’s favourite Information Super Station, CJOB featuring one of Winnipeg’s favourite radio personalities. Throughout the trip, visit with the radio personality as we travel from Inkster Junction Station to the beautiful community of Grosse Isle. On arrival visit the local vendors displaying their hand-crafted items or treat yourself to the freshly prepared hotdogs, smokies and baked goods on offer. Stroll through the beautifully restored Heritage House, East Rosser School and newly added church. This is a must do for all CJOB fans out there!

Saturday July 29th – Propellers, Tracks and Wheels

Steam Locomotive

Arrive early and enjoy the PT Cruisers and model airplanes on display at Inkster Junction Station. Once the Conductor calls all aboard, hop onboard for our trip up the line to rural Manitoba. Kick back and listen as our Historian tells tales of Canadian railroading and the impact the railways had in building Western Canada or tap your toes to the live onboard music. Appreciate the slow pace of the stopover, climb through the cab of the Diesel locomotive or take a closer look at the vehicles that have followed us up the track. Pick up some made-from-scratch baking as you enjoy family time during this fun trip.

Sunday July 30th – Tales from the Homestead

Hop onboard and join us as we travel to the rural community of Grosse Isle. Sit back and listen as our historian recounts stories of his families’ journey to Manitoba and their farming life throughout the generations. The stopover is rich with activities, watch as wool blankets are made, take a wagon ride up the trail, build forts with hay bales or browse the farm equipment on display. Bring along your own picnic or indulge in a freshly prepared hotdog or smokie, leaving space for a made from scratch baked treat or ice cream. Take a stroll through the beautifully restored heritage buildings before we head back to the city. Don’t miss out, there is something for everyone today!
